iTunes Match reportedly going live in new European countries including Italy, Austria, and Greece

Apple’s iTunes Match cloud music service is broadening its international reach, with the service reportedly going live in several new European countries. MacRumors reports that several readers in Italy, Austria, and Greece have had to agree to an updated iTunes terms and conditions document — which includes references to the service — while others have been able to sign up for iTunes Match outright. MacStories has posted screenshots from the Italian version of the service, which is shown as being priced at €24.99 a year.

US home video sales jump 2.5 percent in Q1 2012, Blu-ray and streaming services gain traction

US consumers spent $4.45 billion on home video entertainment in the first quarter of 2012, according to figures just released by Digital Entertainment Group. That’s an upswing of 2.5 percent over the same period last year, with Blu-ray and digital streaming services coming away as the big winners this quarter. Purchases of the high-definition optical media jumped 23 percent to $541 million in Q1, and Blu-ray continued to enter new homes with 2.4 million players sold.
